APC UPS Reset Procedure (After installing new battery)

🔄 How to Reset Your APC UPS

A complete reset—often called a "brain dead" procedure—can clear internal faults and restore your APC UPS to working condition.

1. Unplug All Devices: Disconnect everything from the UPS outlets.
2. Power Down: Turn off the UPS and unplug it from the wall.
3. Disconnect the Battery:
   • Use the battery disconnect switch if present, or
   • Unplug the internal battery connector manually.
4. Discharge: Hold the “On” button for 5 seconds to remove any residual charge.
5. Reconnect Battery: Reattach the connector or flip the switch back on.
6. Power Up: Plug the unit into the wall and turn it on.
7. Test Output: Watch LED indicators and plug in a small device to confirm operation.
