Rayovac low discharge batteries are designed specifically to hold a charge when left unattended for long periods of time. This means that Your Camera or flashlight will always be ready for use. Even after sitting for an extended period of time.
These batteries are very much like NiMH rechargeable batteries, the low discharge battery can still be recharged up to 1000 times. Unlike regular rechargeable NiMh batteries, they do not lose their capacity over time (this is known as the batteries self discharge characteristics). The pre charged Rayovac batteries will outperform NiMH batteries with higher initial capacity The reason for this is that conventional rechargeable batteries will drop by 20% of their previous capacity every month, Low discharge batteries will only lose 2% of it's capacity every 30 Days. After only 30 days the Rayovac 750mAh AAA cell will still have more capacity than a more expensive standard NiMh 750mAh AAA battery.
