After about 18 months with little use, one of the original Dewalt lithium battery packs just shorted out. No sparks or anything disastrous, just dead, and would not recharge. This happened even though I always made sure to store the batteries in a fully charged state. The OEM packs were very expensive so I bought one of the CS-DEC120PX packs. It has worked perfectly and if anything it is better than the original despite the plain black case. It takes a firmer push to make it snap into the OEM charger but I imagine that's a good thing since maybe the electrical contacts are stronger. I would buy this item again without hesitation.

Since my previous review a year ago, the rest of the OEM 12V 1.5Ah Dewalt packs have all shorted out. They cost $77 each at other stores but I get this 2.0Ah replacement at only $38. When I bought the drill for $99, it came with 2 packs and a charger. That just shows how overpriced the OEM batteries actually are. I thought that was a good deal so I bought several sets. Well, from my experience, the OEM batteries are garbage. All of the CB packs that I've purchased to replace the dead Dewalt packs are still going strong. See? I did say I'd buy them again :-)
