UPS unit's have a recalibration procedure built into their firmware. This involves deep-discharging and recharging the battery while the UPS is in a special test mode. Instructions for triggering such a recalibration will vary according to your UPS manufacturer. You can usually consult the devices handbook for instructions on this procedure. it's important to confirm the information from your device before ordering, contact us before ordering if you are not sure. An easy way to test your UPS batteries to see if they have failed is to remove the batteries from the unit and then measure the voltage across the terminals. A new battery would usually have a voltage of around 13V. One that is Tired and ready for replacement would usually be around 10V to 12V. AGM technology batteries usually last between 3 and 5 years, Sealed Lead Acid batteries have the ability to be charged for between 200 and 1000 cycles, cycle life will vary according to a number of different factors. There is no set life cycle of any of these cells. Factors that influence their life include temperature, humidity and amount of charges. Some manufacturers have more than one battery type fitted in like models. We recommend that you remove the original battery before ordering to confirm this. If you are not sure we may be able to confirm for you.
Please be advised that some higher capacity batteries are the same size as the standard battery. For example a 12V 9Ah battery is actually the same size as a 12V 7Ah battery. The advantage of a 12V 9Ah battery is that it would give the unit an extra long runtime in the event of a power out. If there is any doubt contact us first and we can advise if this is a suitable replacement for your device.
